A fairy tale-like dark fantasy set in Spain during World War II. This pretty much single-handedly made me a Guillermo del Toro fan for life even though he's never topped it (and almost certainly never will). This and The Lives of Others hitting theaters within a few months of each other in 2006 was such an incredible one-two punch.
